Cultivation Capital Launches $30 Million Fund

Cultivation Capital, a one-year-old St. Louis venture capital firm, has opened a second fund to invest in health care and life sciences companies. General partner Bill Schmidt said the new fund will invest $30 million over five years, with investments ranging between $250,000 and $1.25 million per company.

The fund will look at a broad spectrum of technologies, including plant science and biofuels, drug discovery, medical devices and health care information technology. Its target will be bridging the gap between seed and angel investors and later-stage venture capital firms.
