KC Company Developing Biometrics Security System Wins Startup Competition

Kansas City tech startup EyeVerify competed against seven other startups from around the country in winning the U.S. leg of an international startup pitch competition. As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2013, Get in the Ring: The American Startup Clash came to Kansas City for its U.S. debut. EyeVerify — a biometrics security system that provides secure authentication using eye blood vessels — took home the trophy: a ticket to the Netherlands for CEO Toby Rush to compete in Get in the Ring: The Investment Battle, where winning the international finals gives startups a chance at grabbing more than $1 million in angel financing.
