The Briefcase LLC has raised seed funding to help double its staff and further advance app development.

NelNet Inc., Dundee Venture Capital Inc., Saturday Capital LLC and Kansas City-based angel investor Jon Bentz are financing the company, which makes software to help colleges and universities aid their students in finding post-graduate jobs. Christian Fisher, the CEO of Prairie Village, Kan.-based Briefcase, declined to comment on the total amount, saying only that it was more than $100,000.

In the next year, the money should enable Briefcase to at least double its staff, which currently stands at 14.

The company already has established several area partnerships, including the University of Missouri, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Rockhurst University and Park University.
