Kansas City business accelerator SparkLabKC has selected its second group of startups to participate in its mentorship program.
Starting Jan. 13, the 10 businesses chosen for the three-month program will collaborate with experts to refine business strategies, develop a business model and create a prototype pitch. In addition to mentorship, each company will be given seed capital up to $18,000, receive legal and financial services and take part in a demonstration day for investors.
SparkLabKC launched its program last May, choosing 11 companies for its first class. Several members of that group will be returning to help mentor the new set of companies.
This year’s selected businesses are BuzzMeDo, CouponCloud, Creelio, Dewsly Media, Life Equals, Lucky Orange, Minute Movement, 1CapApp, Toasty Totes and UChic.
In a release, managing director Kevin Fryer said he was impressed with the quality of the chosen companies, many of which have already generated their own seed capital and revenue.
