BioGenerator has increased its investment in Apse, a startup focusing on agricultural pest control.

St. Louis-based BioGenerator, which invests in early-stage life science companies, closed on $200,000 in seed funding this week, bringing its total investment in the startup to $410,o00.

The funding allowed Apse to bring aboard a new president and CEO, John Killmer, who previously worked for Monsanto and once served as president of Monsanto China.

Apse is generating new ways to treat crops without GMOs, and is making more cost-effective and safe herbicides and insecticides.
