Electric-truck maker Orange EV is expanding in Riverside

Orange EV, the Riverside startup that makes electric-driven terminal trucks, is on the move again and adding to its staff and financial backing.

In a company statement released Wednesday, Orange EV announced that it had received a $150,000 investment from the Missouri Technology Corp., a public-private partnership created by the General Assembly to promote entrepreneurship and high-tech growth.

Wayne Mathisen, Orange EV’s chief executive officer, says the investment will “help provide additional near-term production capacity.”

Along with staff increases, the company plans to move to a new plant six times larger than its original headquarters.
