Arch Grants, a nonprofit outfit that aims to attract startups to St. Louis and help fuel their growth, is doling out $550,000 to a new group of 11 companies.
The latest pack of Arch Grants winners includes a South Korean firm that makes video-editing software, a startup founded at Washington University that produces a pillow sensor to help with sleep optimization, and a Florida-founded company that’s developing a transparent liquid-crystal display.
All told, Arch Grants has awarded money to 76 companies since 2012. The organization said 60 of the previous 65 winners are still in business, and 54 of them are still in St. Louis.
The companies employ 309 people in Missouri, generate $21 million in annual revenue and have raised $66 million in capital, Arch Grants said.
