A new fund to help certified minority- and women-owned contractors bid on projects they might not otherwise be able to tackle due to cash flow limitations is now available in Kansas City through Port KC and AltCap.
The Diversified Contractors Growth Fund of Kansas City, initially set at $500,000, will provide access to capital for project-specific cash flow for supplies and/or labor to allow contractors to bid on public or private work. In addition, the program pairs financing with access to educational and training resources.
The goal of DCGF is to build the capacity of Kansas City’s minority- and women-owned contractors to maximize their participation in building the Kansas City region.
The Full Employment Council will assist loan recipients with developing hiring plans and sourcing local workers.
