KCRise Fund makes two new local investments

The KCRise Fund made venture capital investments in Kansas City-area startups PEQ and Dunami.

The investments now give the KCRise Fund four portfolio companies, adding PEQ and Dunami to earlier investments in SpiderOak and Innara Health. The KCRise Fund now has committed more than $2 million of investments in local companies as a venture capital sidecar fund, meaning it invests alongside other venture capital firms that also have invested in these companies.

PEQ focuses on Internet of Things services, particularly for large enterprises seeking commercial uses for mobile connectivity. Kansas City-based Open Air Equity Partners was the initial investor. All of the outside investment dollars raised by PEQ have been from the Kansas City area.

Dunami is co-located in Kansas City and Colorado Springs, with most of its employees in the Kansas City area. The company focuses on data analytics solutions to help companies build their business, drive their brand and secure their interests.
