Prosper Women Entrepreneurs has added five women-led startups to its St. Louis-based accelerator program, including companies targeting the social video, health care marketing and organic wine markets.
Each of the five will be given a $50,000 capital investment, in exchange for an equity stake in the startup. The participants have an opportunity to receive up to $100,000 in follow-on funding.
The five new accelerator participants are:
- FetchFind (Chicago)
- Humblee (New York City)
- Makeena (Boulder, Colorado)
- Per Diem Plus (St. Louis)
- SOCIAL Sparkling Wine (Chicago)
The spring 2017 accelerator class represents the fifth round of capital investments for Prosper Women Entrepreneurs, or PWE. The organization already has graduated 22 companies and invested over $1.5 million, officials said.
The accelerator culminates with a demo day — to be held March 29 — during which the entrepreneurs pitch their plans to business leaders, venture capitalists, angel investors and potential clients.
