Digital Sandbox lands $950,000 in new grants to work with KC startups

Digital Sandbox KC has received a combined $950,000 in grants from two local organizations to continue its work developing startups in the Kansas City area.

The proof-of-concept program received $450,000 from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to go with $500,000 it recently received from the Missouri Technology Corporation, according to a press release.

Digital Sandbox was started in 2013 and gives $20,000 in grants to startups focused on bringing a product from idea to commercialization.

Since its start, Digital Sandbox has issued more than $1.9 million in project funding, and its startups have received more than $50.8 million in follow-on funding, according to the organization.
