Tuesday

FastTrac NewVenture (Session 3 of 5)

9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Kansas City SCORE, Room 114 (4747 Troost, Kansas City)

In FastTrac NewVenture, a program of Kansas City’s Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the UMKC SBTDC and University of Missouri Extension, you will look at all aspects of your proposed company, exploring the feasibility of your business concept and learning how to develop a viable business plan. Participants will learn about startup issues and learn to address the competition, legal matters, marketing and financial management aspects. FastTrac participants don’t just learn about business, they work on their own business endeavors throughout the course. This program is fast-paced and energizing, using guest speakers and lots of group breakout activities.

Human Resources Roundtable

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Olathe Chamber of Commerce (18001 West 106th St., Suite 160, Olathe, Kan.)

These lunches offer human resource practitioners of member organizations a forum to discuss best practices, trends and issues. Held the third Tuesday of each month.

Tech Cocktail’s Kansas City Mixer & Startup Showcase

5:30-8:30 p.m. at Boulevard Brewing Company (2501 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City)

Work might be from 9-5, but business happens between 5-9. Tech Cocktail Mixers are like networking events except fun, like a party, except business-oriented, and like a startup pitch series, except informal and face-paced. The result is a one-of-a-kind experience that makes for the perfect evening for entrepreneurs, investors, tech enthusiasts and fun seekers alike.

Athena League Vox

5:30-7 p.m. at the Google Fiber Space (1814 Westport Road, Kansas City)

Join us to hear from  Laura Lee Jones, founder and CEO of LionShare Marketing, and Christina Eldridge and Dawn Taylor, the co-founders of the recently launched startup Red Dirt. These women entrepreneurs will share their insights into creating, building and growing successful companies that integrate creativity and technology.
