Midwest.io is a two-day conference in the heart of the U.S., bringing together developers for an eclectic collection of talks covering the latest trends, best practices, and research in the field of computing.

Human Resources Roundtable

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Olathe Chamber of Commerce (18001 West 106th St., Suite 160, Olathe, Kan.)

These lunches offer human resource practitioners of member organizations a forum to discuss best practices, trends and issues. Held every third Tuesday of each month.

Entrepreneurship: Planning, Financing and Starting Your Business

1-4 p.m. at Midtown Enterprise Center (3830 Washington Ave., St. Louis)

This three-hour offering will provide you with a broad overview of the most critical aspects of planning, financing and starting your business venture. Participants will assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements, and identify the costs associated with starting and operating a business. The program will provide you with an opportunity to become familiar with the SBA loan programs, requirements and what constitutes a successful loan application.

Operation JumpStart

9 a.m.-4 p.m. at SBTDC at Southeast Missouri State University (920 Broadway St., Cape Girardeau)

Operation JumpStart is a nationally recognized, highly successful training model for individuals considering starting or expanding a business. Participants will learn essential business planning and preparation skills such as product pricing, legal structure, competition marketing and cash flow management.

Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Luncheon

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at White River Conference Center (600 West Sunshine, Springfield)

Please join us at the Annual Membership Luncheon for a time of networking and hear a mid-year update on the Chamber’s strategic areas of focus. All Chamber member employees are invited to attend the lunch.
