As Election Day approaches, party leaders descend on Missouri

With the U.S. Senate race between Sen. Claire McCaskill and Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley expected to be one of a handful of tight contests that will determine control of the Senate, Missouri will be a popular destination for high-profile political rallies in the final week before Election Day.

President Donald Trump will appear at Columbia Regional Airport on Thursday to stump for Hawley, the Republican challenger for Missouri’s Senate seat. Trump is expected to make another Missouri appearance next Monday, on the eve of election day, in Cape Girardeau.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend a rally Friday in Kansas City for Hawley and multiple Kansas Republican candidates.

On the Democratic side, former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to attend an event Wednesday in Bridgeton in support of McCaskill, the Democratic incumbent in Missouri’s Senate race.
