The Missouri governor’s race is heating up and leading the nation in TV advertising spending among governor races.
Since last year, the Missouri race has led to $27.5 million in TV advertising spending, making it the priciest governor’s race nationwide, the Columbia Daily Tribune reports.
Republican Eric Greitens spent an estimated $8.4 million on advertising through Monday, and Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster spent about $6.2 million in advertising, which doesn’t include the cost of producing the ads or the cost of airing the ads on local cable systems. To date, Greitens has aired more than 20,800 advertising spots, while Koster aired more than 14,700.
