Vice President Mike Pence will tour fundraising events Thursday to help buttress Republican candidates who could face tight races this November, including Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley.
Hawley is running for U.S. Senate and is the most prominent Republican seeking to challenge Sen. Claire McCaskill, the Democratic incumbent. Missouri is a top priority for both parties in the contest to control the Senate.
Little more information was released about Thursday’s fundraiser.
McCaskill has raised more than twice the campaign funds Hawley did last quarter. President Donald Trump is also voicing his support for Hawley, and is expected to attend a fundraiser for Hawley on July 24 in Kansas City.
Pence will also attend an event hosted by America First Policies in St. Louis Thursday morning, where he is set to speak about tax cuts. America First Policies is a nonprofit organization founded to promote Trump’s policies.
