Post Holdings, the Brentwood-based consumer packaged goods company, is pursuing an initial public offering of its Active Nutrition business, Post announced Thursday.
The Active Nutrition business sells a range of products including protein and other beverages, nutrition bars and supplements. Its brands include PowerBar, Premier Protein and Dymatize.
For the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, the division reported net sales of $827.5 million and net earnings of $101.2 million.
Post plans to sell approximately 20 percent of the ownership of the new company, according to a press release. It expects to complete the deal in the second half of Fiscal 2019.
Corporate headquarters for the new company would remain in the St. Louis area, according to the release, and the operating business would be based in Emeryville, California.
Darcy Horn Davenport, president of the Active Nutrition business, would serve as chief executive of the new company, Post said.
