Columbia lab operator Boyce and Bynum sells to Quest Diagnostics

Boyce and Bynum Pathology Professional Services, a Columbia-based company that runs pathology labs across the Midwest, has agreed to be acquired by Quest Diagnostics.

For New Jersey-based Quest, the deal expands the services it offers in the Midwest, according to a press release.

Founded in 1965, Boyce and Bynum employs about 350 people across 21 facilities in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, according to the company’s website.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019, according to the release.

Boyce and Bynum’s anatomic pathology division and long-term care division are not were not part of the deal. Boyce and Bynum will continue to operate those, serving as the exclusive pathology provider for Quest Diagnostics clients in Missouri.
