The William K. Busch Brewing Co. is moving ahead with plans to build a new brewery and distillery in Defiance, following approval from the St. Charles County Council.
The company said Monday it expects to complete the facility in spring 2020.
The facility will produce Kraftig beer and other alcoholic beverages, enabling the St. Louis-based company to expand its offerings beyond Kräftig Lager and Kräftig Light. Those beers have been produced in Wisconsin since the company’s founding in 2011 by William “Billy” Busch, a descendant of Anheuser-Busch founder Adolphus A. Busch.
The new facility will focus on “artisan, small-batch beers and craft, barrel-aged whiskeys,” the company said.
