The Boone Hospital Center Board of Trustees announced it’s focused on two options for the future of the hospital. The Columbia hospital will either partner with a national health care provider or continue as a standalone operation after a management contract with BJC HealthCare expires in December 2020.
The trustees did not specify which national providers they are considering.
The trustees engaged in exclusive negotiations with University of Missouri Health Care regarding future management for several months, but the sides weren’t able to reach an agreement.
The board announced in September that it would not renew its contract with St. Louis-based BJC.
