Insured losses from those storms are expected to be at least $139 million, the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Regulation announced Wednesday.

Residential property claims comprise the bulk of claims reported so far. Claims on residential property total 2,901, and total losses paid on residential property exceed $29.3 million.

The next most significant loss was to commercial property. There have been 517 claims reported for a total loss of almost $16.5 million.

Just more than 60% of all claims have been closed, according to the state insurance department, and about 70% of residential property claims are closed.
