School districts in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas are suing the e-cigarette company Juul Labs.
The Francis Howell and Olathe school districts say Juul markets the nicotine products to minors, “>Reuters reports. The schools blame Juul for “addicting a generation of youth to nicotine.”
This comes in the midst of national crackdowns on e-cigarettes.
The growth of e-cigarette sales has slowed in the last four weeks as news of health problems related to vaping hit headlines nationwide. In that time, Juul’s market share decreased to under 67%. That’s down from estimates earlier in the year of nearly 75%.
Some states have restricted the sale of flavored e-cigarettes. Massachusetts has instituted a four-month ban on all vaping products.
