MU sees stable deposits for fall enrollment

Freshman enrollment deposits for fall at the University of Missouri were stable this year relative to last year, the Columbia Missourian reports.

By May 1, or “decision day,” more than 5,400 students had paid an enrollment deposit. Last May, MU announced an unofficial enrollment number of 5,460.

“Given the current situation, we’re very pleased with where we’re at right now,” MU spokesperson Christian Basi told the Missourian.

MU has pushed back its enrollment deadline from May 1 to June 1.

More than 400 universities and colleges have also extended their deadlines due to the coronavirus, Inside Higher Ed reports.

At MU, the extension was put in place in hopes that more students will be able to visit the campus and make a decision.
