Applications for new farm relief funding to open Tuesday

American farmers will receive another round of coronavirus relief funding, according to Reuters.

The aid is available for farmers growing corn and soybeans, as well as other crops, such as barley, cotton and wheat.Farmers can receive 45 cents per bushel of soybeans and 32 cents per bushel of corn produced last year.

“This assistance is a first step to getting farmers, and our customers, back on solid footing,” Kevin Ross, president of the National Corn Growers Association, told Reuters.

President Donald Trump had already announced a $19 billion relief program for farmers in April.

Farmers can apply for payments beginning Tuesday.
