State offers online training, vouchers to help out-of-work residents

The Missouri Office of Workforce Development announced a new online portal to help job-seekers train for new careers as they re-enter the workforce.

This comes after unemployment surged when the COVID-19 pandemic led to statewide economic shutdowns in March.

The Return Strong Initiative aims to connect out-of-work Missourians with training vouchers sponsored by community colleges. The vouchers range from $2,000 to $4,000 and are funded by federal relief money.

The Return Strong program enables residents to see if they qualify for the vouchers and access the training programs online.
