The University of Missouri System’s 2021 budget proposes increased tuition and new fee structures for the fall semester, the Columbia Missourian reports.
If the budget is approved, students at all four campuses could see a 2.3% increase in the price per credit hour. Graduate students at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla would be exempted for undisclosed reasons.
The tuition increase would add about $7 million in revenue, aiding in the deficits caused by recent cuts to state education funding.
The fee changes would impact students at the system’s Columbia and St. Louis campuses.
Tuition hikes are planned at other universities, including Missouri State University, Truman State University and Southeast Missouri State University.
