Columbia is the latest city to consider requiring that masks be worn in public places, the Columbia Missourian reports. This comes just days after Kansas City’s mask order went into place.
Kansas City, Kansas will be requiring masks starting Tuesday, and the entire state of Kansas will do the same Friday, The Kansas City Star reports.
The requirement to wear masks in public has received backlash from members of the public who disagree with the order.
In Columbia, a petition has been circulating to try to stop the order from passing. It had over 190 signatures as of Tuesday. However, many people agree with the measure, and their petition to pass the order had received over 900 signatures.
