AMC Theatres, based in the Kansas City area, will push back its reopening date, according to The Kansas City Star.
The reopening of its theaters had been scheduled for July 15 but will now take place July 30. This comes after the company announced it had “significant doubts” that it would survive the pandemic.
The company controls about a quarter of the 40,000 indoor movie screens in the U.S. and operates over 600 theaters.
After closing theaters and furloughing all corporate staff in March, staff is now returning to prepare to reopen.
