Medical marijuana could reach the shelves of Missouri dispensaries as early as this fall, the Columbia Missourian reports.
Two cultivation centers have been approved to begin growing in June in St. Louis and Perryville.
Plants are mature after 90 days, meaning that the product could be on the shelf as soon as September or October. Once authorized, Missouri is set to have more medical marijuana cultivation centers than any other state, except Oklahoma.
Nearly 55,000 people have been certified to receive medical marijuana in the state. There were roughly 2,200 applicants vying for the 192 dispensary, 60 cultivation and 86 processing licenses.
