Amid reporting switch, Missouri Hospital Association can’t access COVID-19 data

The Missouri Hospital Association has said that it no longer has access to data previously used to track the spread of COVID-19, KCUR reports.

Last week, the Trump administration asked that hospitals report coronavirus data to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Previously, this data had been shared with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Hospitals do not currently have access to the new reporting system through DHHS. Additionally, they say the methods for collecting data are different, which could lead to confusing figures.

The Missouri Hospital Association has said that this change leaves them unaware of the full scope of the situation concerning the spread of COVID-19.
