Two St. Louis Universities begin COVID-19 vaccine trials

Washington University and St. Louis University are beginning collaborative trials to help find a vaccine to the coronavirus, KSDK reports.

The universities are part of the COVID-19 Prevention Network, which was created to find treatments and vaccines to the coronavirus. The universities will study several different phase trials on around 3,000 participants over the next few months.

Anyone over the age of 18 may sign up for the trials. They are especially looking for those likely to be exposed to the virus or those who are high-risk indiviudals.

While around 150 vaccines are in development worldwide, the vast majority are in the earliest stage of development.
