Envoy Air expands maintenance facility at Springfield airport

American Airlines subsidiary Envoy Air plans on moving to a bigger facility in Springfield to expand aircraft maintenance operations there and create potential enhancements to its service in the future, according to a press release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The property is owned by Springfield-Branson National Airport and will be leased to the company. The move will enable Envoy to service more Embraer E-175 aircraft, according to the release.

Brian Weiler, the airport’s aviation director, said in the release that the expansion positions Springfield as a maintenance hub for the Embraer aircraft “for decades to come.”
