WATCH: MU pitch event tackles media business models

The University of Missouri’s Center for the Digital Globe hosted its Annual Media Symposium at Friday. A recording of the video feed is available below.

The event featured presentations from teams of master’s students at MU’s journalism and business schools. Those teams have worked on consulting projects for media companies over the course of the spring semester, culminating in Friday’s event.

Two presented Friday. They pitched projects to the Associated Press, the global news wire service, and Hearken, a company that works to help organizations better listen to the people they serve.

The Hearken team won the competition with its pitch of HearkenBiz Initiative, a tiered plan for expanding the company’s technology and consulting services to for-profit businesses. The Associated Press team presented its plan for AP StoryShare Missouri, the Missouri iteration of a new content-sharing platform from the wire service.
