Cerner Demonstrates Tools that Suggest Treatment Plans, Predict Readmission

Cerner Corp. CEO Neal Patterson says the company is designing its medical software to be more intuitive to help physicians and other health care providers make better and faster decisions.

Patterson, speaking Tuesday morning to thousands of attendees at this year’s Cerner Health Conference in downtown Kansas City, highlighted a number of new features his firm is adding to its record systems. Some can automatically suggest potential treatment plans and medications for a patient based on the physician’s past decisions in similar cases.

“We’re going to make the system smarter and smarter and to know you and what you want to do, possibly before you do,” Patterson said.
