John’s Butcher Shoppee to Pay $50,000 Fine

John’s Butcher Shoppee has agreed to pay $50,000 to settle a lawsuit the state of Missouri filed over allegations that ground beef the shop sold contained cattle hearts.Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed suit in June 2011 against John’s Butcher Shoppee; its president, Michael Kolish; and its secretary, Thomas Kolish. The settlement with the defendants covers the company’s stores in Overland and Festus.Read more on St. Louis Business Journal.
