St. Louis-area Jobless Rate Slipped In September

The jobless rate in metro St. Louis fell again in September, notching its lowest rate since the end of 2008, even as the number of people on payrolls slipped a bit, too.

Adjusted for seasonal variations, the unemployment rate in the region was 7.4 percent, down two-tenths of a point from August and its lowest level since Dec. 2008, according to figures out today from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and adjusted by the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank.
