The winners of a St. Louis County business plan competition have products ranging from serious stuff to just plain fun.
On the serious side is MediBeacon, the first place winner announced today by the St. Louis County Economic Council. MediBeacon, founded by Steve Hanley and Dr. Richard Dorshow, makes a skin-mounted sensor that monitors kidney function.
Also in the medical field, the council awarded third place to Retectix, maker of a surgical mesh that reduces complications from surgery. Retectix’s founder is Matthew MacEwan. Read more on St. Louis Post Dispatch.
