Co-ops Sell Propane Business to MFA Oil

MFA Oil Co. purchased two regional electric cooperatives, Propane Pardners and United Electric Cooperative. The sale price and other terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

MFA is a farmers cooperative based in Columbia and among the top 10 suppliers of propane in the country.

Propane Pardners was owned by Platte-Clay Electric, which is based in Kearney, and United Electric Cooperative, which has offices in Maryville and Savannah, Mo. It served 2,100 customers in 12 counties in Missouri and three counties in Iowa.
