National Nuclear Security Administration Gets Keys to New Campus

The National Nuclear Security Administration received the keys to its new campus in Kansas City on Thursday. The 1.5 million-square-foot campus cost $687 million to construct.

But even though the lease with Centerpointe Zimmer started Thursday, the 19-month move of equipment, furniture, supplies and employees doesn’t start until Jan. 23. The move to 14520 Botts Road will cost $80 million.

The new Kansas City Plant will be used for construction of non-nuclear components for U.S. nuclear weapons. Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON) has the contract to run the manufacturing operations.
