Hostess Bakers Union Asks Judge to Appoint Trustee

A bakers’ union and a pension fund have asked a bankruptcy court to appoint a trustee to oversee the wind-down of Hostess Brands rather a management group.

Hostess, which used to be based in Kansas City and has plants in the metro area and in Boonville,  shut down its operations and began liquidating earlier this month after a failed mediation session with its bakers’ union, putting 18,000 out of work.
