Missouri Acts to Help Displaced Hostess Workers

The Missouri Department of Economic Development is sending its Rapid Response team to the Kansas City area to help displaced Hostess workers find opportunities for work.

Three free meetings will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 and at 10 a.m. on Dec. 4 at Union Hall, 4501 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd., for workers from the Kansas City, Blue Springs, Grandview, Independence, Lenexa and Raytown areas. Although 197 factory employees work at the Lenexa, Kan., bakery, 233 other employees in outlet stores, distribution stores and truck drivers also were affected.
