MO Farm Real Estate Sells for $7,000 an Acre

In another indication of rising interest in farm real estate, United Country – Nelson Real Estate & Auction Co. of Bethany, Mo., on Tuesday said about 433 acres of Missouri crop land sold in four separate tracts at a recent auction. The land sold for as high as about $7,000 an acre, and far exceeded seller expectations, the company said.

The auction on Nov. 26 drew 78 bidders from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. United Country said it received inquiries about the farmland from across the United States and as far away as Kuwait and Australia. Twenty-four registered bidders participated in the auction, which generated more than $2.3 million for the seller. Read more on Kansas City Star.
