Kansas City-area Construction Employment Declines

KANSAS CITY -Year-to-year construction employment in Kansas City declined on both sides of the state line in October, according to a new analysis of federal employment data Associated General Contractors of America released Wednesday.

Employment sagged 5 percent in Kansas City, Mo., falling to 20,500 in October 2012 from 21,500 in October 2011. In Kansas City, Kan., construction employment dipped 7 percent, falling to 15,600 from 16,800, the analysis said.
