KC Metro Home Construction Highest Since 2007

Home-building activity in the Kansas City area is poised for its best year since the recession knocked construction to its knees in 2008. That mirrors a national rebound that continued in November when the number of building applications also rose to a four-year high.

In the metro area, permits to construct single-family homes climbed to 283 in November, up from 185 in the same month in 2011, according to the latest monthly data from the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City.
