Major GM Expansion Expected In KC

Top General Motors Co. executives and union leaders have scheduled a news conference Monday to announce what local government officials anticipate will be a major expansion at the Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City that would ensure its operation for many years. The city and county last September authorized $120 million in revenue bonds at GM’s request to finance a proposed addition at the plant, which employs 3,750 people.
