Nixon Nominee Out As KC Metro Sports Complex Director

Steve Bough’s tenure at the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority was short-lived.
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed the Kansas City personal injury lawyer in August, but Bough had to be confirmed by the Senate. As it became clear he did not have support to be confirmed, Bough withdrew his nomination, saying it had been blocked by Sen. Paul LeVota, D-Independence. There’s also speculation the Chiefs and the Royals were upset by the hard line Bough took on use of the repair and maintenance money for Arrowhead Stadium and Kauffman Stadium.
