New college graduates that majored in engineering get the highest entry salaries, according to a new survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
Among the top ten majors with the highest starting salaries, computer engineering ranks No. 1 with an average starting salary of $70,400, followed by chemical engineering with $66,400 and computer science with $64,400. The only non-technical major on the top ten list is finance, which pays $57,300 on average. The salary survey is based on employers’ reports, and the data represents accepted salaries for bachelor’s degree graduates who finished college in 2012.
