Peabody CEO Uses Super Bowl Power Outage To Market Coal

The power outage during the Super Bowl has put a spark in Peabody Energy Chairman and CEO Greg Boyce’s push for coal as the best alternative power source.

Boyce said the power outage, which lasted for 35 minutes last night, offered a convincing case to counter those who have envisioned a world without coal.

“Without coal, you might as well turn off half the lights, not just for our favorite games but also for our cities, shops, factories and homes,” Boyce said in a statement.
