Westinghouse Picks KC Engineering Firm For Nuclear Development Project

Burns & McDonnell has entered an agreement with Westinghouse Electric Co.to develop and license small modular nuclear reactors. The Kansas City engineering giant will help Westinghouse with “base plant design” and the design certification document for the small modular reactor. Westinghouse is trying to win $452 million in financing from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the technology in Missouri.
