With a new approach to treating addiction, St. Louis-based Assisted Recovery Centers of America is growing and gaining national attention.
ARCA founder Percy Menzies questions the traditional way of treating alcohol and drug addiction, which he says focuses too much on willpower and faith. So ARCA complements therapy with the use of a non-addictive drug, naltrexone, that’s part of a class of drugs Menzies says is helping to “bring alcohol and drug treatment into the 21st century.”
ARCA this week opened its third St. Louis location. The facility, which has 25 single-bed rooms, is expected to treat about 1,000 privately insured patients this year.
